We were delighted to welcome Julie Montagu, often known online as the American Viscountess, to Dabton House last month.
From a small town outside Chicago, she married into the British aristocracy and now lives at Mapperton House in the West Dorset countryside with her husband Luke, heir to the Earl of Sandwich.
Who is the American Viscountess?
Julie Montagu is a devoted aficionado of British castles, manor houses, and stately homes. She spends much of her time touring Great Britain, connecting with friends and fellow ‘big house’ owners to discover how they have adapted to the 21st century.
During her visits, Julie and her team film her experiences for broadcast on YouTube. From exploring the gardens and estates to rolling up her sleeves and helping with various jobs, the American Viscountess delves into and shares the rich history of these remarkable homes.
